Sharing nanny life on social media is a great way to connect with the nanny community, but there’s a safe and professional way to do it.
Here’s 𝟱 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 🗯
👉Always have permission to post pictures of your nanny kids. The parents need to be aware and comfortable with their children being posted on social media. Many aren’t and view it as a breach of privacy and trust.
👉Avoid using names or personal facts. Nanny world has plenty of codes NB, NK, G2, B3 and so on… there is no need to use identifying factors. Keep their personal lives private.
👉Avoid any pictures of Nanny kid’s faces. (unless parents have expressed consent)
👉Be mindful of geolocation tags. So often we tag our location on social media; this is fine when you’re out with your friends at brunch, but can be a safety issue if you’re tagging yourself alone in a park with your nanny kids
👉Never disclose the address or neighborhood of your employer’s home on social media, it’s best and safest to keep the anonymity
